Canada · DC ammeter shunts and current measurement components
Canadian Shunt Industries (CSI, Canada, founded 1972) does one thing: DC ammeter shunts. Plant and offices are in Markham, Ontario, in over 16,000 square feet, with three hundred standard models from 1 A to 50,000 A, standard drops of 25, 50, 60, 75, 100 and 150 mV, and a Manganin resistive element. The LA, LB and LC ranges are built to US military specification A-A-55524, which supersedes MIL-S-61B; products are assessed to UL and CSA requirements where applicable, and any make of shunt can be certified to ±0.1% uncertainty traceable to NRC, NIST and SI.
We carry CSI shunts and the matching current-measurement hardware — base-mounted, bus-bar, switchboard, DIN, heat-sink and printed-circuit or adjustable types — matched to your original model or to the parameters (rated current, millivolt drop, mounting, accuracy). Common ratings are stocked; less frequent types are sourced through the manufacturer and established distribution channels with documentation.
Below are commonly requested parts. Unlisted numbers can also be quoted — just ask.
Fix the rated current and the drop first — standard values are 25, 50, 60, 75, 100 and 150 mV — then pick the series by mounting and space: LA/LB/LC for base-mounted, C or the base-less G/V/E/F/FL for switchboard, A/H/K for high current, 860 for DIN cabinets, TMH/THA/THB for heat-sink mounting.
CSI certifies any make of shunt to ±0.1% uncertainty traceable to NRC, NIST and SI. Tell us the application and the range points when you ask for a certificate so we confirm the right scope.
Common current ratings and drops are partly stocked for fast shipment; unusual ratings, non-standard drops and custom parts are built to order, confirmed in the quote. Every unit is original and new, with procurement documentation available.
