What defines interchangeability
A motor or gearmotor is defined by its duty and how it mounts. Capture these before looking for a substitute:

Notes by motor type
- Servo motors (Baumüller DST2, 0.3–108 kW): need a matching drive (b maXX 5300/5500 or 6300/6500) and encoder; confirm the feedback type.
- Stepper motors (Anaheim 17Y / 23Y): run open-loop; match torque and frame size.
- Gearboxes / gearmotors (ROSSI RC80PO1FS): ratio and output shaft decide the replacement.
- DC motor controllers (KALEJA M2-MR-5-30) and electronic load relays: match voltage and current.
- Direct-drive torque (Baumüller, up to 60,000 N·m): no gearbox; confirm the load inertia.
How a cross-reference is built
- Record the original type code and capture the nameplate photo.
- List power, speed and mounting (B3/B5/B14).
- For gearmotors, note the ratio and output shaft form.
- Confirm supply and whether a brake is needed.
- Match the feedback (encoder/resolver) for servo types, then bench-test.
